ch-ch-changes

i have been away from the dew drop inn for a week.

during this time, i have been in deep contemplation about my approach to this blog journey...

the inn is a new space.  it has only been seven months since i threw open the door and invited guests in for some magic.

i approached this adventure with the spirit of a beginner.  my goal is to continue to have an open heart as it unfolds.

one idea i have been working with is the scheduled days of the week posts such as weeds + water wednesday and foodie friday.

after several months of this experiment, i have decided that it isn't working for me.  the system does not feel good to me, and my guiding force for this project is to follow my bliss...

therefore, i will still continue with garden and food posts...but i will do so on whatever day they feel appropriate.

henceforth:

garden posts = weeds + water

food posts = foodstuff

as always, i truly appreciate your presence on this journey.

thanks for joining me at the dew drop inn and for going with the flow.

you are wonderful.

fanfare for...

post...

number...

oh my!

it feels like i just arrived at fifty.

i must express that writing this blog brings me true joy.

here at the dew drop inn, i am experiencing:

the power of jumping in,
starting something new,
+ learning as i go

the freedom of releasing perfectionism

the value of small devoted steps

the feeling of virtual connection + friendship

daily artistic inspiration

a space where my dream of being
a magical innkeeper + creative curator
is real

i am grateful to you, dear readers, for your presence, support, and energy.

it is my pleasure to have you at the dew drop inn.

and it would delight me to have you as my honored guests for at least a hundred more posts.

masquerade

i just finished scrubbing plaster off of my face.

plaster, you say?

yes.

i spent the evening making a mask.

it was one of the tasks for this week in the workbook vein of gold by julia cameron...

...i have been working through this book one teeny tiny step at a time since november.

it is the book that follows the artist's way which i completed almost ten years ago...

...vein of gold is about exploring and connecting with the core of truth that is present in your art.

there are seven different "kingdoms" to journey through in the book:

  • story
  • sight
  • sound
  • relationship
  • attitude
  • spirituality
  • possibility

the mask i worked on this evening is the final task in the kingdom of sight.

the book has been an amazing source of structure and inspiration for me.

it has me writing every morning, taking myself on weekly "artist dates," and constantly creating fun projects.

ultimately, it is allowing me to sift through my past, consciously design my present, and creatively envision my future.

in a heartfelt and honest way.

what a splendid adventure!

ch-ch-changes

well, things are evolving by the moment around here.

i took the leap this morning and purchased my domain.

you are now visiting my dot com, lovely readers!

so now i am...

...eeeeep!  i am so so so excited about this.

it was a technically arduous process for a novice tech brain like myself, but with the help of my darling kevwrex (who has the patience and compassion of a bodhisattva) i got it worked out.

sadly, in the transition i lost ALL of my previous comments.

i have read that they may or may not return.

i am a sentimental gal, so if they do not come back i will be a little heartbroken.

but it's official!

i am queen of my domain and that is that.
