book love

this is not a secret: i am a lifelong bibliophile.
  • when i was small, i squealed with delight and ran like a wild child every time i saw the bookmobile driving down my street.
  • i was a devoted participant in the summer reading club for my entire elementary school career.
  • bookstores are and always have been my happy place.  they instantly inspire me and fill me with ideas.
  • for me, a library is a place of cozy delight and endless possibility.
the following three items are little ways i've recently discovered to give my beloved books some extra attention:

printable book plates from orange you lucky...

diy personal library kit from twig and thistle...

catalog your books at librarything...

my bf and i want a library in our house. There are SO many books on my shelves!! Its so amazing volunteering in the oxfam bookshop cuz the boss lets you get books even more reduced than usual. I stocked up! My most recent purchase book wise was - A DM book for my bf and he bought me Slaughterhouse 5 (unintentionally) just both charity shop finds!

hey diane! i'm the same way with books! although, i have to say, the older i get, the less time i find to read just for fun. boo. i loved the book fairs at school when i was little. and i always found myself reading the books that were a bit too 'grown up' for me when i was young just because i wanted to read them. that's such a cute book plate!

heart handmade, great find at the charity shop! love me some vonnegut. enjoy!

i'm with you lady! i was thinking the other day about elementary school read-a-thons...they were the BEST...we brought pillows and snacks and read all day long!

I love the printable book tags. I have recently been trying to build up my home library. I moved a lot in the last 5 years, and would always sell off my books each time. Now that I think I have found a premanent locale, I am kicking myself for giving them all up so easily.

@hearthandmade...eep! i am a huge vonnegut fan and have a bunch of his vintage editions.

@jackiebean...same thing for me with finding the time now. and when i was a kiddo, book fairs = nirvana.

@sara...maybe someday we should do a grown up read-a-thon with pillows and snacks and tons of books!

@robyn...i've been quite the gypsy for the last decade, moving soooo many times and letting go of books along the way. somehow there are always more that take their place! but the ache remains.

@sal...old book smell makes me feel so happy.
