{moments} harmonizing

in my corner of the universe, life has been gloomy this week.

when the bigger picture is challenging, i put extra effort into consciously zooming in on the little moments of sheer joy that are always present.

one such moment in my world...

...singing with my love.

kevwrex teaches choral music and often brings home new songs to practice in his studio.

sometimes he invites me to be a part of the process, asking me to sing either melody or harmony so he can work out musically how to teach the song to his students.

this is a dream for me. i love to sing. and to have the chance to sing with the person i absolutely adore? pure heaven.

we sang a few songs together on wednesday evening. this was a tiny moment in our week (fifteen minutes, perhaps?) but it has made me so incredibly happy in the midst of a tough time.

have you had any small moments of delight or happiness this week? please share with me...i love to read about those moments.

I hope the happy little moments keep coming. the last one I remember was from this morning, when the mister woke me up with a steaming cup of coffee, something that doesn't happen often, so very special and nice to me :)

After weeks of stress and gloom in my life, I believe I have turned the corner. I am basically caught up on paperwork (the bane of my existence) and I am feeling slightly better about other things.

I love that you love to sing with your love. I LOVE to sing. At one point in my life, I was a big fish in a very small pond and was lauded for my voice. Going off to college made me realize I was not that special after all. I had enough sense to realize the truth and dropped any dream of taking it further. I have however continued to sing throughout my life. I sing in church and sometimes at school. When my daughter was younger, she hated when I sang in the car with her. But now, things have changed. She asks if we can have sing-along time in the car when we are going somewhere. This often involves singing at the top of our lungs to Lady Gaga or Katy Perry but I'll take it!

((hugs)) and happy thought :)

sweet ....
I always assumed I would marry someone who sings - someone I could sing WITH ....
And I did - but not at all in the way I thought.
Andrew absolutely refuses to sing for people. He's convinced he can't and not at all interested in trying.
BUT, when it's just the 2 of us? He is making up nonsense songs (or changing the lyrics to real songs to put my name in it) ALL.THE.TIME.
So, I definitely married someone who sings .... In his own way :)
have a great weekend ...

You have been given such a beautiful gift...the ability to sing (my attempts round up the neighborhood alley cats). I am very happy that you reflect on those 15 min of pure joy and happiness and truly hope that this joy and happiness can spread out into the rest of your life and chase some of the gloomy clouds away!

diane, you are so inspiring to me! i think it must be a brilliant thing to get to hang out with you and feed from your positivity. i love your outlook on things from reading in a variety of your posts, especially hearing this today...makes me happy!

true connection is the major thing that gets me on the happiness train. i've had few beautiful moments this week experiencing the bliss it brings. one being an art opening we went to on Thursday and speaking with one of the painters for a very long time. it lifted me up to hear his process and passion.

thanks for this post lades and HUGEST thanks for your comment. you're such a terrific girl. xo ♥

This weekend I was out with my 3 year old and we had to pick up some lunch for my husband on the way home. The closest place was in a strip that had a movie theater right next door and we had to walk through the theater lobby to get there. It was her first time ever setting foot in a movie theater and her eyes just bugged out of her head. "Mommy Mommy Mommy . . . WOW!! Look at this! Mommy, look up there!!" I love being right there when she sees something for the first time. Helps me see the old with new eyes too. :)
